The City of Durham can provide shapefiles of sewer and water features to contractors, developers, and other users.
Data provided as part of a Utility Data Request reflects information provided through approved documentation and does not guarantee the existence of infrastructure in the field. These data are not meant to be, nor should they be construed as, a substitute for a field survey. All determinations should be verified by additional means.
It is further advised that records listing older install dates, as well NULL values, be more strictly scrutinized.
You can click here to make a request.
(This will open in a new tab or window.)
You will be asked to provide the following:
- A contact name and email address.
- A company name.
- A reason for requesting the data. Examples are pre-purchase information or project planning. We cannot provide these data without a valid reason.
- A specific area of interest. You will select the area using the map and tools provided in the form. The current size limit is 1000 acres.

Please allow for 3 business days for PWGIS to collect and provide the requested data. If you do not receive an update on your data request. Please contact us at PWGIS@durhamnc.gov
